Resource Origin

The Origin (or the Source Server) — Your physical or virtual HTTP(S)-accessible server hosting the source directory with files you intend to distribute via the CDN, primarily designed to handle incoming requests. For example, the origin may host your website’s source code or content folders. Anycast CDN uses the source server to cache the original files and proxy requests for non-cached files.

If you don’t have a strong reason to use a third-party cloud storage, we strongly recommend using our native Cloud Storage as your cloud origin.

Cloud Storage

You can also create a bucket in our Cloud Storage and use it as a source bucket. To do this, in the Resource origin section, click on the Cloud Storage tab and click Create new bucket. In the modal window that appears, as shown below, specify the name of your new bucket and your preferred protocol.

The name of your new bucket can be between 3 and 63 characters, consisting of lowercase letters, numbers, periods, and hyphens only.

To continue, click the Create new Bucket button.

External Storage

Keep in mind: We provide a native cloud storage solution that works seamlessly with Anycast CDN and Video CDN. This is the simplest, fastest, and most reliable option, fully optimized and supported out of the box.

Our Anycast CDN allows you to use private object storage buckets as an origin. This means your content can remain securely stored in a private bucket while still being delivered globally through the CDN.

In addition to native storage, we support external S3-compatible object storage providers. External private buckets cannot be connected to the CDN directly.
To solve this, we automatically deploy a secure gateway service between the CDN and your storage - a highly reliable and low-maintenance approach.

Supported providers in the first release:

  • Amazon S3

  • Wasabi

  • Backblaze B2

  • DigitalOcean Spaces

  • Object Storage (S3-compatible)

  • MinIO

Upcoming support:

  • Azure Blob Storage (next iteration)
