How to upload a file for vCDN testing - Video CDN [EN]

Overview

The File Upload feature allows you to upload your media or test files directly from your computer to vCDN. You can use it to verify content distribution, performance, and CDN caching behavior — without needing manual support assistance.

This guide explains how to access the upload form, select a resource, and manage uploads.

Preparations

Before uploading a file, make sure you have at least one vCDN resource created.

If you try to upload a file without an existing resource, a popup will appear: “Please create a resource first before uploading a file.” In this case click OK to be redirected to the resource creation page.

Test File Requirements

Bulk uploads are not supported.

min. size:	10MB
max. size:	10GB
format:	image/video

Uploading a file

Go to Files.
Click the Upload File button
Then File Upload window will pop up
In the File upload form, fill in the following fields:4.1. (mandatory) Drag & Drop area - put or select the test file for your trial upload4.2. (optional) File Name - You can change the original file name before uploading. If no extension is specified, the original one will be automatically inhereted.4.3. (mandatory) ** Resource dropdown selector** - Choose a vCDN Resource the file will be associated with.
Once all fields are filled, click Upload.

To abort file upload, click Cancel or close the form.

Monitoring upload progress

During upload, you’ll see a progress bar and status indicator.

If the file violates limits, an error message will be shown.

In case upload is unsuccessful,an error message will appear.

Common errors:

File too small/large: “File size must be between 10 MB and 10 GB.” Unsupported format: “This file type is not supported.” No resource selected: “Select a resource before uploading.” Upload interrupted: “Upload failed. Please try again.”

Check the result

When the upload completes successfully, you’ll see a confirmation screen.

Now you’ll find your test file listed in the Files section of the User Panel — ready for Video CDN to distribute.

From here you can test CDN delivery using the system domain assigned to your respective resource.

Hover over the file entry to access actions such as Deletion.
