Object Storage
Object Storage is a way of storing your data as objects instead of files or blocks. Each object consists of:
Data (the file itself — image, video, backup, etc.)
Metadata (information about the file)
Unique identifier (key) used to access the object
and is accessible via API calls over HTTP/S allowing for elegant integrations. Billions of objects can be effectively stored this way, maximizing your scalability.
There are no traditional folders or complex hierarchy, just a logical structure; your assets within are organized into buckets - logical containers with unique names, protocol type, and access rules. Operating seamlessly with the user platform, our Cloud Storage allows you to upload and distribute files and data while staying fully secure.
Object Storage vs Traditional Storage
Feature | Object Storage | File Storage | Block Storage |
|---|---|---|---|
Structure | Objects (flat) | Files & folders | Raw disk blocks |
Access | API (HTTP/S) | File system (NFS) | Mounted volume |
Scalability | Very high | Medium | Medium |
Best for | Media, backups, CDN | Shared files | Databases, OS disks |
Self-hosted Storage
Being self-hosted, our Cloud Storage is deployed and managed by us, running on our own infrastructure, and ain’t dependent on public cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
Meaning we have full control and responsibility over data location, sovereignty, and access policies. Our technical support actually deals with any issues firsthand. We yield vast possibilities of performance tailoring and integrations at the best possible price for every client.
