Origin Upstreams Speed Test & Prioritization

Origin Upstreams Speed Test & Prioritization

This feature is disabled by default, you need to enable it for any given resource from the user panel.

When your CDN origin resolves to multiple IP addresses, network conditions can vary significantly. Some IPs may respond faster, while others may experience notable latency or congestion.

To ensure optimal performance, Anycast CDN provides an optional Speed Test & Prioritization feature. When enabled, the platform automatically measures response speed for every resolved Origin IP, automatically sets the currently fastest IP as the primary upstream and marks the remaining IPs as backup upstreams. After the initial speed test, system continuously re-evaluates performance to adapt to network fluctuations on the go.

Enable Origin IP prioritization

Open your CDN resource, navigate to preferences tab. Make sure Origin URL is provided. Origin IPs prioritization function is listed right below.

  • Type: Toggle

  • Default state: Disabled

Switch the toggle into the active position to enable speed test and prioritization of the optimal IP.

When enabled, the CDN will automatically select the fastest origin IP.

The configuration is sent to the API
